It started about 10am on Friday, though if you didn't get your bread, milk, and eggs by about 5pm on Thursday you'd be out of luck if you wanted to make any French toast during the storm! James and I dutifully picked up the necessities at Costco and Trader Joe's on Thursday afternoon (the line at TJ's was literally about 20 people deep! Thank goodness for the woman behind me who kept James happy by talking to him!) Emails went out warning people to prepare to shelter in place for 3-5 days, which of course just made people around here panic even more!
Mark came home a few hours early from work and we braced ourselves (ie fired up the Wii) for another snowed-in weekend. By the time we called it a night, there was already about 6 inches on the ground. By morning, there was maybe around a foot? 16 inches? But the snow was still falling. Mark shoveled about two-thirds of our driveway mid-storm, and then I finished it Sunday morning (though the part he shoveled had another 6 inches or so on it). We didn't take pictures of the finished driveway and the walls of snow on either side, but we'll try to do that and add them. Anyway, it finished snowing Saturday afternoon and the official total for our area was 25.5 inches!
We tried to go for a walk, but the snow was too deep to go far, so we stopped and played in the snow for a bit. We even let Sammy off-leash to chase snowballs, but we almost lost him when he spotted some other doggies in the distance. Sarah ran at a diagonal through the snow and dove to catch the leash just in time! When the dogs got closer, their owners asked if Sammy was friendly and if we'd mind letting the dogs play for a bit - they had a blast chasing each other around in the snow!

That baby sled is so cool (and James looks so cool riding it)! Where did you get it? Looks like it works much better than the umbrella stroller, which is what we put Moses in yesterday (after the snow plow came through, of course!)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katie! We got it at Buy Buy Baby. It works well, though the snow is almost too deep for it! I pull him behind me and it dips into my footprints making for a bumpy ride!
