While our area does get some snow each winter, we usually only get a few inches at a time. How excited were we when the forecast read 10-20 inches! The first flakes began to fall Friday night around 7 or 8pm and didn't stop until early Sunday. Mommy rushed out to send off the Christmas cards before the storm started, but Daddy wasn't done his set yet - sorry, those are now going to be extra late!
Here are our pictures from what many have now coined "Snowpocalypse 2009"! We think we ended up with around 18 inches.
Sammy bounding mid-storm:
Mommy and the little guy bundled on a short hike (notice the new hat, bought hours before the first flakes fell. Not as great as our original baby hat, but it did the job!):
Snow mounded on our car (New Year's resolution: clean out the garage?):
Our street:
Our house (Mark shoveled mid-storm, so the snow there this morning was only a partial accumulation):
Snow at the back door (tried to get the little guy to sit as a reference, but he quickly tipped himself over on all fours. He's just about got the crawling thing figured out...a few more days and he'll be shooting across the room!)
Snow on the grill:
