Last Day as a Student Nurse!

4 summers ago I took my first prerequisite class through the community college, thinking that one day I would go back to school for nursing. I finished the last two prereqs right after James turned 1 year old and got my acceptance letter to nursing school the same week. Fast forward another summer and today was my last day as a student nurse! Bye-bye green scrub top and khaki pants! It's been quite a year. Thanks to all of our friends and family for your love and support, I couldn't have done this without you! People ask how I did this program with a toddler and I tell them I have a wonderful husband who was very flexible with my ever-changing schedule, an amazing daycare provider whom James loves, and a very supportive family who stepped up and helped out when we needed them (Dad and Laura even spent several days with James when daycare wasn't open, you guys rock!). I also had some awesome classmates who, despite the often competitive atmosphere of most nursing schools, were incredibly supportive and collaborative. I am really going to miss all my nursing school friends! We did it! And it really did only take 11 (very crazy) months! Next hurdle: passing those boards!
