First Birthday

We can hardly believe how much our little guy has grown in one year!

















James started his special day with his favorite breakfast - Cheerios and banana. He has some sort of cold, but after a long morning nap he and Mommy headed to the zoo. We had a picnic lunch and saw lots of animals, but unfortunately our zoo doesn't have any giraffes. Apparently they moved to Florida a few years ago.













We took our yearly picture on the glider with Mr. Rabbit for comparison.




















Instead of cake (he'll get some at his party, don't worry), we started off the meal with a birthday banana. He wore Daddy's birthday hat to blow out his candle but for his actual birthday party we'll be sure to get him a non-over-the-hill hat!



















Mommy cooked James the traditional family birthday meal - chicken and capers with garlic pita bread. James wolfed it down!

I was going to write a reflection on our first year as a family, but let's face it, most people only come to the blog for the pictures :) Here's a slideshow of our little man's first birthday:
